Mingara Heavy horse Stud evolved from the purchase of a three year old Clydesdale gelding, by the name of "Dopey".
Dopey for obvious reasons soon became "Henri", and has since gone on to be the cornerstone of Peninsula Carriages
(Est.1994 - John Miles). Henri has been the star of over 100 weddings, numerous parades and been involved in many, many sponsorships.
In the year 2000 at Sydney Royal;
Henri was third in the four wheel business turnout behind the two big breweries Carlton & Coopers.
He was `first in the Australian Draught Horse Ground driven Class.
Henri has an endlist list of wins & places at shows all over New South Wales
Mingara Heavy horse Stud continues to produce Shire horses of the highest quality, with an emphasis on
conformation, action, temperamant and versatility.
The driver for WC Penfolds & Co., Alan Gilham & John Miles attended the Brisbane Royal Show in 2002.
Grand Champions in nearly all the events they took part in.
